Daniel Boone Conservation League has over 300 acres of land
devoted to nature trails, scout grounds, fishing ponds, and shooting ranges
devoted to the promotion of shooting sports. The property is set on glacial
terrain that has the perfect habitat for wood ducks and other wildlife. In 2006,
a project was started to install and maintain nest boxes on the DBCL property.
The nest boxes are cleaned and the bedding is changed every year and an
estimated hatch count is kept. They have produced very well over the past years.
Below are links to actual pictures of the DBCL project, all data recorded, and
GPS locations along with an aerial plot using “GPS Visualizer”.
If you have any questions about the DBCL wood duck nest box
project please contact Steve Seibert at (262) 844-0888 or seibert@ameritech.net.
