Hunter Education

The Daniel Boone Conservation League hosts traditional Hunter Education classes periodically though out the year.  Offerings are normally in the spring (March) and fall (September).

Students will be instructed following the “Today’s Hunter” workbook with a mixture of lecture based and hands on learning.  We place a strong emphasis towards gun handling of the five typical action types.  A field day usually featuring archery, trap, 22’s, black powder, running deer, tracking, and tree stand safety is a highlight of every class.

Classes are open to anyone by enrolling through the DNR’s "Go-Wild" website.  To enroll through Go-Wild, the student will need a DNR nine-digit customer I.D. number (000-000-000).  This number can be found on any previously purchased hunting or fishing license.

Check out the DBCL calendar for dates.  You may contact Jason Duehring for details regarding upcoming classes and when, where and how to get enrolled.

Always remember the 4 basic rules of firearm safety:
T – Treat every firearm as if it were loaded
A – Always point your muzzle in a safe direction
B – Be sure of your target and what’s beyond
K – Keep your finger outside the trigger guard until ready to fire
